Dentist in Livonia, MI

At Todaro Dental, our state-of-the-art technologies ensure accuracy, efficiency, and comfort. Our dental equipment is safe, effective, and well-maintained. Some of our dental technologies include those listed below:

Digital X-Rays

Our advanced digital x-rays magnify and enhance your teeth for better diagnosis and treatment. This technology allows our dental team to take images of your teeth and display them on a computer screen quickly and easily.

With digital x-rays, we can view your teeth and surrounding structures with remarkable accuracy.  These images provide the information we need to plan your dental treatment.

Digital x-rays require much less radiation than traditional film x-rays. Digital x-rays are safe and effective dental technology.

Ultrasonic Scalers

Ultrasonic scalers are instruments that destroy bacteria (also known as biofilm) and tartar (or calculus) from above and below the gum line by using sound waves, vibration, and water. Biofilm and calculus cause inflammation and bleeding which lead to periodontal disease, so removal is crucial to your oral health as well as your overall health.  Dr. Todaro recently invested in the best ultrasonic scalers available.  She upgraded our ultrasonic scalers because Dr. Terri, Dr. Cindy, and our hygienists care about your health and giving you an excellent hygiene experience.  These new ultrasonics are able to be manually adjusted by each hygienist to make your appointment enjoyable.  The tips that we use were designed by a periodontist to reach into the deepest periodontal pockets while still being comfortable and achieving optimal results.  Using ultrasonics is not only more thorough than hand scaling, but is faster overall, and less polishing is needed because it also removes the stain, and that protects your enamel.

Air Abrasion

Our Livonia dental office is equipped with modern air abrasion technology. We utilize a small handheld device to blow a stream of air and tiny aluminum oxide particles against your tooth. This can be used to safely blast away tooth decay and remove surface stains. Air abrasion may also be used as part of a cosmetic or restorative treatment to prepare a tooth for bonding or to repair cracked or worn teeth.
